May 16th - public viewing/ project take-down..... :(

The hardest day of the trip. Knowing its all done as you tare the things off your board......thats exactly how I felt.

Everyones falling asleep, talking quietly about the awards and taking lots of pictures. Thats what it was like today. Saying good bye to friends......getting everyones MSN's........taking a deep breath and pulling the poasters off your board. It feels like your taring a little peice of your heart out. And yea I know it sounds stupid but when you get to go this far with a project you get attached to it. So when it comes to an end it gets pretty hard.

The day started off with me waking up pretty early. I had nothing to do so I called my parents!:P I got ready and we went to breakfast and one again had caned fruit! From there we all walked to the exibit hall for public viewing. It was pretty fun because I got to talk to a bunch of the delagates fron Quebec! It was really good pratice speaking french because I haden't done a lot of it because I presented my project in english. At 12 they let us go to lunch. We all left knowing that when we came back we would be taking our projects down. We had lunch wich I had no idea what it was nor do I remember. We all set out to take out projects down at the exibit hall. We got to the exibit hall I took one last picture, one deep breath and pulled of the question and then pulled everything else off. It took all of 15 minutes to get the stuff off. After leaving the exibit hall for the last time we all went back to the dorm to get ready to go the the imax movie and just hang out. After 2 and a half hours later we met for supper at the manitoba as every other night. We had another grose meal and then headed for the bus stop to catch a bus to the imax theater. We watched a movie about the counry Grese and then one called "under the sea". And nuturally I sang the song "under the sea"!:P In all that night I ate 1 small bag of popcorn, natchos, a king size aero bar, a slushie and a big bag of fuzzy peaches! (Can you belive I ate all that? Well i did!) After the movies we had to take a creepy bus ride back to the U of M with people on drugs and stuff in was kind of scarry!

We got back took some team N.B. pictures and then headed for bed.

It was a very emontinal day but fun!

May 15th - The Awards Ceremony/ closing banquet/ dance!

WOW! What a crazy day! School tours, getting ready in 30 minutes, awards ceremony, closing banquet, DANCE!!!!!!



My day started off with getting ready for the school tours (wich are a complete waste of time because the kids don't understand what your talking about) at the exibition hall. But first we had breakfast! YAY!!!! (NOT!!!!) Then it was off to The Max Bell Center (the exibition hall) for the school tours. At 11:30 they let us go. We had to be back there to catch the bus for the hotel at 12:30 but before that we had to change AND eat lunch! So we took our boxed lunches and went to our rooms to get ready. I wore my black dress thats compleatly sparkles! (I wore it on the empty stocking fund.) So I got myself ready and then we were off. When we arrived at the Canadian polo park inn we went into the big dinning room wich was set up like we were at an awards show with a red carpet! It was very very cool! It wasen't very long before they started handing out the awards. They started off with the special awards. Then they told us that they would be handing ou the "Pertro Canada peer Inovation Award". Our master of cermonies anonced how this award was chosen. The projects are picked by the other students in their region in Canada and in their devision (junior, ect.) "For the alantic region in junior,...... Hannah Wallace!" ME! Wow I was picked out of all the projects in alantic Canada in grade 7 or 8!!!!!! Winning this award means that I get 200$! I wasen't expecting to get anything! The projects are so good and I thaught that just being there and seeing all of this was award enough but aparently it wasen't!:P The awards continued New Brunswick in total got 2 bronze meddles, 1 honorable mention and I belive 3 special awards! For being one of the smallest delagations we did pretty well! The awards cermony finished off with the gold meddle winners (who each got 1 500$ and a full schlorship to one university in Canada) then the 3 planinum award winners (one from junior, intermediate and senior) The projects that won that are amazing! Then there is the "best in fair" award that went to the guy who won the platimun award for senior. He invented a new wheelchair! Once the awards were finished we all went to a different room to watch some dancers who were wicked amazing! Then we went back to the dinning room wich had been compleatly transformed back to a dinning room. We had THE BEST supper EVER! We had salad, carotts, green beans, BEAUTIFUL chicken and white and milk chocolate mosse! The mosse was the best part!:P After supper all the finalists went to the "dance room" for you guessed it the dance!:P It was honostly THE best dance i have ever been to! Everyone hung out together in one big group, the music was amazing (it was so loud that the next morning my ears were still ringing!:P), there was free pop and chips and stuff and plus it was in a real dance club! But I missed everyone soo much they played all the songs that we all like in Saint John! At 11:15 I left the dance with the team from victoria because the rest of team N.B. had left earlier. So I got off the bus at our dorm just as people were comming out in their pj's because someone had pulled the fire alarm! It was pretty funny everyone in their pj's and me in my dress!:P But it was all ok in the end!

A hectic day with a happy ending!

May 14th - Off Campus Activties!

Group 3 - fossils
My tour we were soposed to go to the museam and then to an actual dig......ummm yea.

So the day started off with me waking up at 5:30! Stupid time change! So yea anyway I got up and got ready! Off to a day of fossils! We went to breakfast and then headed to the exibition hall to wait for the buses. Eventually our bus got called. We were off to see the fossils but first standing in our way was a 1 and a half hour drive, on a bus with girls behind you singing clapping games! Not the ideal bus ride! After what seamed like forever we arrived at the museam well actually the community center. The museam is in the basment. The museam it's self was awesome! We all took tons of pictures! And they let us take pictures of real fossils! (Most museams don't let you take pictures of the real thing.) It was really cool. Then lunch..... well first of all they didn't have a place where we could all eat together and the lunches they gave us had like nothing in them! But that wasen't a big deal because I wasen't very hungry. So then they told us we were just going to stay at the museam. But we all really wanted to go to the digs. So they said we could go, we probably woulden't be able to dig but we would be able to see them. We went anyway. So really we just did a lot of driving we saw 2 sites (not digs) and that was pretty cool but sort of boring. I took a lot of pictures. Then we set out for "home". That took about 2 hours because we stoped for treats and we had to change drivers. Finally we got back to the U of M. Then I went to my room and put of some swett pants to be comfortable! At 6 we went to supper wich as always was grose. After that I came back here to have a shower, call my parents and write my blog.

It was a good day in all. Just a little too long!

May 13th - The Second day of judging

Oh my goodness it rained today! Down pour ALL DAY! So I woke-up to rain. I got ready to the second day of judging. The judging today was for the special awards. I was up for the "Dr. Michael Smith Inovation award". The judging was 5 minutes per judge. Pretty fast, so really you really quickly explain what you did and say why you think you should get the award. I got my judging done in the morning then Robin and I (one of my friends from B.C.) walked over to the place where we eat and I ate with the people from B.C. That was a nice change! After lunch we all went back to the exibit hall to wait for like a million hours! So eventually they let us leave and everyone went back to their dorms. Once I got back I started to get ready to meet Liam (he used to dance at the place I do) for supper and to go to the ballet. Then at 4:20 we went to meet Liam. Liam took us to the RWB (Royal Winnapeg Ballet School) to give us a tour and we evan got to go in the company lounge! After that we went to the bar at the Delta for supper. Wich was VERY VERY good! So after supper we walked down to the theater. The show that we saw was like our recitle (except on a bigger scale) it was also VERY VERY GOOD! The first act was just the guraduating students and they did a wonderful job! The second act was the returning students and they performed "The Snow Queen". They also did a super job! The costumes were amazing! And the dancers really fit their parts. Expecially the snow queen! She did such a good job! Then we took a taxi back here! Joy! (the guy had no idea where he was going!) Hahaha!

Well that was my day and I'm feeling a lot less stressed now that the judging is over!

May 12th jugement day! (the first day of judging)

The first day of judging. Was GREAT! My day started off with the usual breakfast. Caned fruit. Grose! But today didn't start off as bad as the other days. It's the first day of judging exciting but terrifing! So after breakfast we all went to the exibit hall to get ready. We didn't have a lot of time but in a way I think that was good! My first judge was very nice she asked me a lot of questions (but here we say that if a judge asks you a lot of questions then they are interested in your project so it's a good thing.) (I'll make a list of the questions at the end). My second judge was from the Canadian Grain Assoation so I'm not exactally sure why he was one of my judges but anyway I explained my project to him then he asked me 2 questions and then left so I'm not sure where he liked it or hated it. My third judge seamed really intrugiued by my project asked me lots of questions and we just had a conversation. The fouth and fith judge were together wich was a nice change just to be able to talk to 2 people instead of 1. They also really seamed to like my project. Then we went to lunch where I ate salad and cake. (Very wonderful I know.) After that we all headed back to the exibit hall for you guessed it more judging!!! My sixth and seventh judges were also together. Like most of the other they really seamed truly interested in what I did and what I was saying. So my judging was over so sence the guys on team N.B. are being idiots I made some new friends from Victoria B.C. They're really nice and acepted me into their group right away. One of them is evan named Hannah too! So at 4:30 they finally let us go back to our dorms to change. Then it was off to supper wich didn't have any corn of fake fround beef!!!! YAY!!!! It was actual chicken! And it was really good! Then we went back to our dorms (again). Then we went back to the same building for lectures. Oh how fun! (yea right) the stuff went in one ear and out the other! After that we came back to our dorms where I am right now had a shower and now am writing this. Guess what we do tomrrow?!?! More JUDGING!!!!

Monday May 11th

So it was the "most restful" day of the trip. Sureeee. It started off with a breakfast of caned fruit. ( great hun?) Then we had "science day activites" (random tours around the university) that were oh sooooo wonderful!:P Ss my first thing was computer enegering wich was pretty cool. We got to see how the green screen works and build airplanes! Second I went to plant biology wich was kinda interseting but really wierd. We talked about reprducing cells with different jeans in them. ????? I guess. Third I went to animal testing. We learned anout pig's diets and we saw some really cute piggies! Fourth I went to something else I think it was physcial energenering? Anyway that was pretty cool but got annoying after awhile. Then we went to our dorms for awhile and did nothing. Then we went to diner wich was grose (as always). After that we went to the dorms again and i washed my hair with botteled water. That was interesting! haha. The we went to a first nations thing wich was also cool but got a bit boring after a while so all of team N.B. went back to the dorms. Then our delgates (our chaperones) decided that we were going to go and get some junk food from the store, so we took a bus downtown and we got tons of candy and such. We cam back here (the dorms) and went to the basment and sat around and talked. That was pretty much my day. Crazy as always.

WOW thats all I can say.

First off sorry I didn't write last night but we got back from the opening cermonies very late. WOW yesterday was one of the craziest days ever! It started with me waking up at 5:30 (winnipeg time). First went to breakfast wich was grose like all the food here. Then we had "a grneral orentation" about rules and all the stupid stuff. Then it was off to the exibit hall to set up our projects. The boards that they gave us are horrible and the signs don't fit on the top very well but I think it'll be ok. I got my project set-up and got my safety check done and all is a go! Right after that we went and had lunch wich was also grose but the j-ello was good!:) After lunch some of us went back to our rooms to get ready for the opening cerrmonies. I had a shower the had an alergic reaction to something. I got ready and went back to the exibit hall. From there we took school buses to the Canadian Inn (wich was very very nice) for the opening cermonies. Once we got there we sat for awhile and listened to people talk and then there were 4 different groups of dancers and they were all very good. By this time everyone was starving but we had to wait some more because the "important people" (the people who sponsor this whole thing) had to go get their food at the buffet first. Eventually we got our food wich was VERY VERY GOOD! Much better that the cafiteria food! once evryone had gotten their food this polar ice rechercher talked to us for a while and it was interesting but very long. Then we went to the dance......YAY! (not) It was so boring because I had no one to hang out with! None of team N.B. danced we all just sat and talked and laughed at people! It made me miss everyone at home cause almost all the songs they played are played at our dances back home. :( They played "J'ai ho", "kiss me through the phone", "poker face", "boom boom pow" and a lot more. We got back to the university late so we were all very tired so we all went to bed right away.
It's nuts here and I miss everyone soooo much!

I'M IN WINNIPEG!!!!!!!!

WOW! Today has been the most crazy day of my life! We left our house this morning at 8:30 am and we got to the U of M at 6:30 pm! We arrived at the airport in freddy at 10. We got pictures taken with us all wearing our wonderful (yea right try there 15 000 000 sizes too big!) Then we boarded our plane for Tronto. Our flight was soposed to take and hour and 15 minutes insted it took 2 and a half hours! We had some bad trubulance beacause Tronto had a thunder and lightning storm so we coulden't land so we flew in circles around the air port for an hour. Then once we could land we had to wait on the plane for another half an hour! So then finally we were in Tronto for our soposed 3 hour stop-over but it ended up being 2 hours!:P We got some lunch and then headed back to go where we had to board our next flight Tronto to Winnipeg. That flight went smothly and we got in before we were soposed to! We got our bags and got on a neon orange bus the took us to the U of M! We had supper, registered went to our rooms, went to the mixer (where we were for all of 5 minutes!) then headed back to our rooms where i am now. All by myself. They decided to put me in my own room so I'm here all by myself with no one to talk to. I miss everyone sooooooo much! Well I have to go I'm extreamly tired and not feeling very well.

AHHHHHHH! :)

I have to be in Freddy in 3 hours and the plane leaves in 4. I still can't belive that I'm going to the Canada-wide science fair! I've always wanted to go but I never thaught it would actually happen! Almost everything is packed except for the things you can't put in untill your just about to leave! I feel like I'm going to explode because of excitement and nervousness! (I'm not sure if nervousness is a word but whatever.) I miss everyone already!:( I'll be able to go on msn but its the old version. At least I'll be able to talk to people!

IT'S TOMRROW!!!!!!

Tomrrow! WOW! I still haven't finished packing! haha It was a great day! Saying good bye was hard and I'm going to miss everyone sooooo much! I have a lot of mixed feelings right now. I'm very nervous but I'm excited and I'm going to miss everyone and I'm evan feeling pretty stressed! I'm listening to some music to help calm me down but it doesen't seam to be working! I'm very excited to read all the letters that everyones writen for me! Thank you to all those people!
I'm a little worried about everything fitting in my suitcase but with my dad packing I'm sure he'll get it to all fit! I have to get up at 6 tomrrow morning and I have a feeling that I'm going to sleep in the car going to freddy! I might evan sleep when we're in Tronto for a 3 hour stop-over! I'm getting pretty tired seeing that its 11:08! so I'm going to go to bed!

"Hannah breathe it's 2 days." 2 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh goodness I need to breathe! I have sooooo much to do! I went shopping today and got the last of the things that i needed inculding a really pretty white sundress!! I also got some more scarves! Yay! All this shopping took about 2 hours and then we went to supper and did some more shopping after that! Plus now I'll be able to charge my ipod when I'm away because my parents got me a wall charger! It's getting so close to the time and I think I'm going to go insane before I leave! I'm feeling really stressed about getting everything ready to go. I'm going to miss everyone so much! If anything really ecciting happens when I'm gone e-mail me at hannah_l_wallace@hotmail.com. 3 days....3 days Hannah breathe!

3 days. 3 days!!! I'm so excited but nervous at the same time! I picked out most of the clothes I'm taking but I still have lots to do! I don't think I've ever been this nervous and excited at the same time! I've gotten a lot of things done but I still have lots to do. I need to print out the new copy of my rapport and abstract, pack, go shopping, pack, say good bye, pack and pack some more. Haha. Oh gosh I'm feeling very very stressed right now. And to everyone who thinks that science fair is stupid and that this trip won't make a difference later in life just stop talking! I can get scholarships and money prizes! Plus I'm the first person to go to the Canada-waid science fair from our school so just be quiet! Really just think the grade 6's will get to hear about me for years and years! Be thankful that your in grade eight! So thanks to my real friends who are so soportive of me and going on this trip and to the people that hate me and think I'm a brat that just wants attention have fun doing the "go active fitness challenge" without me! (P.S. I don't have to do the fitness challenge evan when i get back!) Just think I'll be away doing science activities that are actually fun and you'll be running 36 laps around the gym! You guys have fun with that!
To the people who are like my family (a.k.a. my best friends) thank you for everything inculding being my friend! Love you guys!<3

4 DAYS!!!!! 4 days..... oh gosh!

Ok so its 4 days till I go and im kinda starting to freak out! And by kinda I mean REALLY! Well I'm a little less stressed now that I have my computer from the district. (I have an nbed e-mial acount???) So now I just have to do some packing, packing and more packing! I'll miss everyone!

I'm getting nervous!!! Oh my gosh its so soon! i got my board done (again) and its better than ever! I have so much to do before Saturday! And i haven't gotten my computer from the district yet!(I hope it gets here soon!)

I'm getting nervous! I leave in 6 days and I'm terrified but excited at the same time! I'm having my "going away party" today at my house. Also I need to go shopping and get some more stuff before I go.

One week till I leave i have soooooo much to do!

Ok so I'm leaving in one week and I haven't started packing! I have so much to do! I have to pack, finish getting my board ready, have my going-away party and figure out how to use my phone!:P To everyone at PCDA im going to miss you soooo much! And please break some eggs for me at recital! I'm going to miss everyone don't do anything too exciting without me!
